Born and raised on coastal Los Angeles, Christina Reyes is a coastal Northern California based multidisciplinary artist. Christina lives in devotional interrelationship with the natural rhythms and thresholds of the beloved land she tends, maintaining a sensitive connection to the ancient redwoods, Hikshari’ tributary, and deer who Mother the local web of life and beyond. Her practice with flowering plants, light expressed through form, and the spectrum of visible color frequency convey similar proximity and attunement, mirroring the most tender and intimate aspects of the Soul. Her relationship with fiber is sensorial. Observing, holding, and listening acutely to material in hand for extended periods of time, co~creating the dynamism which rhythmically enfolds emotion and feeling into sculptural form.
